Top 10 Restaurants in Savannah

In the last four years, I have visited over 50 different restaurants in Savannah, GA. Although all are great, these are the top 10 places you do not want to miss out on your next visit to town - and make sure to make a reservation!

1. Common Thread

Cuisine: Farm to Table

Price: $$$

Address: 122 E 37th St, Savannah, GA

Why you can't miss it: I highly recommend making a reservation to this wonderful restaurant! The menu is constantly changing, depending on what is on season. Guests can enjoy fresh oyster all the way to cucumber ice creams. Not to mention, the restaurant is located in a historical house.

Favorite Dishes: Glazed Carrots; Octopus with Textured Potatoes & Cucumber Ice Cream (the menu changes constantly).

2. Collins Quarter

Cuisine: Southern with an Australian Twist

Price: $$

Address: 151 Bull St, Savannah, GA

Why you can't miss it: Without doubts, this is one of my favorite to-go places in Savannah. The restaurant serves Brunch and Dinner. The menu varies, and you need to check both times. This is a highly busy restaurant in Savannah, and for Brunch you just need to get there super early, and for dinner, make sure to reserve before hand. To top things off, they have a second location only for brunch in the middle of Forsyth Park, and not only the food is amazing, the views are to "die" for.

Favorite Dishes: Chia Pudding, Banana French Toast, Avocado Toast, Half Chicken, Roasted Spicy Eggplant.

3. Bar Julian

Cuisine: Mediterranean

Price: $$$

Address: 201 Port St, Savannah, GA

Why you can't miss it: The restaurant is located on to top floor of the new Thompson Hotel. The restaurant has both interior and exterior seatings options, but I highly recommend seating outside - especially in the end of the day. Not only they serve luxury cocktails, the foods are sharable and served on boards. Following the classic Mediterranean food line, you don't want to miss all the dips and fresh baked goods.

Favorite Dishes: Mezza Boards, Halloumi Cigars, Fresh Pizzas

4. The Vault

Cuisine: Asian Fusion

Price: $$

Address: 2112 Bull St, Savannah, GA

Why you can't miss it: A chic Asian fusion spot for creative bites & drinks in the historic Bank of America building. he interior features reused materials from the former bank infused back into new artwork throughout and the overall design of the entire building. On one side of the menu, you will find an entire selection of sushi, from classic and house rolls to Nigiri and Sashimi and Tacos. The other side of the menu offers a variety of main dishes, all really well seasoned. But if you are thinking on only grabbing bites - this is the to go spot. Their appetizers are even better than the mains!

Favorite Dishes: Dumplings, Half Chicken, Miso Salmon, The Traveller Roll, Chicken Tacos.

5. The Grey

Cuisine: Southern / Contemporary

Price: $$$$

Address: 109 Martin Luther King, Savannah, GA

Why you can't miss it: The restaurant is commanded by the award winning chef, Mashama Bailey. The Grey has been highly nominated by others, and it appeared on Netflix's series Chef's Table. The restaurant serves elevated plates inspired by classic Southern dishes, but all with locally sourced ingredients. It is set in the segregated Greyhound bus station, which highlights the restaurant sense of community and history.

Favorite Dishes: Pumpkin with Swiss Chard, Oysters, Smoked Carrots, Quail with kale.

6. The Public Kitchen & Bar

Cuisine: Southern

Price: $$

Address: 1 W Liberty St, Savannah, GA

Why you can't miss it: Owned by Daniel Reed (owner of Local 11ten & Frankling's) the Public Kitchen & Bar was created to elevate the casual dining experience while keeping a 'public' sensibility. This means they source the very best ingredients available and serve them in a stylish, casual environment. In keeping with the farm-to-table mission the ingredients are all sourced from our Managing Partner's family farm right here in Georgia.

Favorite Dishes: Burgers, Truffle Fries, Vegan Curry, Half Chicken, Cuban Sandwich

7. Starland Yard

Cuisine: Food Trucks

Price: $

Address: 2411 Bull St, Savannah, GA

Why you can't miss it: Known for its vibrant and eclectic attitude, Savannah’s Starland District is home to a variety of restaurants and cafes that boast the same vibe. All of these eateries keep locals and visitors coming back because of their welcoming atmosphere and, of course, their delicious food! Inside Starland Yard, you can find different food trucks and games, partnered with live music. The food trucks rotate each week, but the Yard hosts Vittoria Pizzeria where Chef Kyle Jacovino makes the best neopolitan pies!

Favorite Dishes: Loki Food Truck, Pie Society, Neopolitan Pie from Vittoria.

8. Bull St Tacos

Cuisine: Mexican

Price: $

Why you can't miss it: Taco spot in Midtown Savannah that serves great food and margs. Order a "taco box" to go (starting at a dozen tacos) to enjoy in the comfort of your vacation rental. Happy hour (food and drinks!) is Monday through Friday between 3 pm and 6 pm.

9. Big Bon Bodega

Cuisine: Bagels & Wood Fired Pizzas

10. Gryphon

Why you can't miss it: If you ever imagined having tea and delicious pastries and finger sandwiches, you've found the right place. Gryphon Tea Room is very much more than expertly crafted tea and beverages, the food is an experience on it's own. The place is located in one of the first building bought by Savannah College of Arts and Design. The restaurant used to be a pharmacy and then later a book store - and fun fact, the first watch of Savannah was located there too. The place remains the same, even with the old medication cabinets.

Favorite Dishes: Afternoon Tea, Ham & Swiss Panini, Burrata Salad.
